PRASAVA RAKSHA TREATMENTS





Postnatal care or kerala prasava raksha. The 1st three months after delivery is the important period of a new mother and baby. This period focuses on restoring the mother's physiology and psychology that has been exhausted during pregnancy and delivery. This is also the most important period of a new born as it is the first phase of the baby outside the womb.


Ayurveda concentrates on vitalising the sapta dhadhus of the mother and baby during this period and to re -establish the digestive and metabolic state (Agni) of the body.


The baby should be given Abhyanga (massage or smearing oil) and then followed by Snana (giving bath) every day .The touch or tactile sensation creates a sense of security and pleasure in both the mother and the child. This massaging also improves skin texture, increase strength, nourish the body, and accelerate the healthy growth and development of your baby.

ARTHRITIS MANAGEMENT





Rheumatoid arthritis and Osteo arthritis management in Ayurveda Osteo arthritis-Common symptoms of osteoarthritis include joint pain, stiffness, and decreased mobility. . Essentially, it’s general wear-and-tear of the joints. “It occurs when the protective cartilage on the ends of your bones wears down over time”.


Rheumatoid arthritis – Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the body, mostly the joints but it can also attack organs, eyes, and skin.


Rheumatoid arthritis symptoms include joints that are tender, warm, and swollen; joint stiffness that is worst in the morning and after periods of inactivity; and fever, fatigue, and weight loss (x). Usually, in RA patients, more than one joint is affected, including the small joints like the wrist, certain joints in the hand, and the feet . Additionally, often the same joints on both sides of the body are affected.


Arthritis can be managed in Ayurveda with treatments like kizhi,basti,snehana swedana ,pizichil and internal medications​.



Pain management - joint pain care and uric acid issues





According to Ayurveda high uric acid is caused due to vata raktha and results in severe pain in joints and whole body. Improper diet is basically a key factor which contributes towards the uric acid disorders. Accumulation of uric acid can lead to several problems such as kidney stone and gout.

  • Guluchi - main drug of action for uric acid.
  • Amla - have rich in vit c which helps in excretion of uric acid
  • Neem - work effectively for bringing down the uric acid


Sciatica, lumbar and cervical spondylitis and spinal diseases

FIBROMYALGIA





Fibromyalgia, is a long-term chronic disorder that is associated with general fatigue and widespread pain in the muscles, bones, and areas of tenderness. This syndrome generally affects the muscles and soft tissues.


SYMPTOMS OF FIBROMYALGIA ARE :

  • Chronic muscle pain.
  • Muscle spasms or tightness in muscles.
  • Severe fatigue.
  • Insomnia.
  • Sometimes, even after having a good sleep, you feel tired after waking up.
  • Difficulty in remembering or concentrating.
  • Stiff body posture.
  • Abdominal pain.
  • Bloated stomach and constipation.
  • Nausea.
  • You feel depressed or anxious all the time.
  • Irritable bladder.
  • Migraine headache or a tension headache.
  • Your body tolerance reduces even after a basic workout, and you feel pain in your muscles.
  • Frequent feeling of numbness in the arms, feet, legs, and face.
  • You always feel that there is a swelling in your arms and legs, but that’s just your feeling. Because there is no such swelling at all.

Stroke is a neurological disorder characterized by blockage of blood vessels. Clots form in the brain and interrupt blood flow, clogging arteries and causing blood vessels to break, leading to bleeding.


Symptoms occur suddenly and can include muscle weakness, paralysis, abnormal or lost sensation on one side of the body, difficulty speaking, confusion, problems with vision, dizziness, loss of balance and coordination, and, in some hemorrhagic strokes, a sudden, severe headache.



PARKINSONS





Parkinsons -A disorder of the central nervous system that affects movement, often including tremors. Nerve cell damage in the brain causes dopamine levels to drop, leading to the symptoms of Parkinson's.



PARALYSIS





Paralysis is a loss of muscle function in part of your body. It can be localized or generalized, partial or complete, and temporary or permanent. Paralysis can affect any part of your body at any time in your life. If you experience it, you probably won’t feel pain in the affected areas.


It is caused by the disruption in the communication of messages between the brain and the body parts. It can occur on either or both sides of the body. It can be restricted or widespread. Paralysis of the legs is called the paraplegia whereas the paralysis of the arms is called quadriplegia.


Paralysis is mainly caused due to strokes or injuries such as a spinal cord injury or broken message transmission system. Other causes of paralysis include Nerve diseases, Autoimmune diseases or Bell’s palsy (affects muscles in the face). Cerebral Palsy also is a main cause of Paralysis.

Varicose ulcer and varicose vein treatments





Varicose veins are perverse and inflamed veins that commonly affect legs and feet. However, these are not very serious, but if not treated on time, it can lead to serious problems. This problem is a result of standing and walking upright, which increases veins pressure in the lower body.


Symptoms

Basically, patient’s suffering from Varicose Veins does not experience any pain. However, there are two signs you will see if you are suffering from varicose veins-

  • Veins appears blue or dark purple in color
  • Twisted and bulging veins seems like legs cords

On the other hand, the signs and symptoms of painful Varicose Veins include-

  • Heavy and achy feelings in the legs
  • Swelling, muscle cramping, burning and throbbing in the lower legs
  • Unbearable pain after long standing or sitting period
  • Itching near one or more veins
  • Skin ulcers around ankle, which indicates some severe form of vascular disease that needs immediate medical attention.

in Ayurveda varicose vein and non healing ulcers can be treated with leaches, internal medicines and other panchakarma procedures.
